History of Abiding Love Fellowship

Abiding Love Fellowship Church (Interdenominational) was formed in July 1996. The first meetings were scheduled at the Days Inn, Foley, Alabama. A 20'X40' Conference Room was rented for $20 per Sunday. There were initially 12 members.

By October 1996, the membership had grown to 40, too many for the small Conference Room. The Church leased the old Army Reserve Building in Foley. It had 3000 square feet with a seating capacity of 75. The building was leased from Bobby Ward/Universal Development at $800 per month.

In June 1997, the space was renovated to accommodate a capacity of 100.

While continuing to grow, in 1999, the Church was led to a piece of property on County Road 26. At a time when land was selling for anywhere from 10-15K per acre, the Church purchased 10 acres at a price of 6K per acre with 630 ft of road frontage. This property was ideal for the immediate needs of the church as well as for future growth.

Plans were developed to build a 6000 sq ft building with a seating capacity of 180. With financing committed by United Bank, groundbreaking was held with Foley Mayor Tim Russell and Senator Albert Lipscomb in attendance.

In 2000, the church was in its new building with 120 members. (The church was released without penalty from its five year lease with Universal Development at the old Army Reserve Building).

By 2004, the church had to replace the pews, with chairs, to increase the seating capacity to 215.

In September 2008, the church began hosting Bible College Courses where you can earn a 2-year Associates and 4-year Bachelors Degree programs. The only College of its kind in this area. Faith In Action Bible College is proud to have over 80 students currently in Bible College with 47 students participating in the June 2011 Graduation Ceremony. Faith In Action Bible College (FIABC) was founded by Dr. CJ McBride and he currently presides as President of FIABC. FIABC is a fully Accredited Bible College.

Also, in September 2008, the church went to two services (8:30 & 10:30am) on Sundays to accommodate our growing attendance. Currently, there are 575 to 640 in our weekly services..

On November 1, 2009, we moved into our new sanctuary. It is a beautiful, state-of-the-art facililty with an audio, video and lighting system like no other in this area. We invite each of you to come by for a visit and worship God's goodness with us.
